Center for Indian Cultural Education - Bal Vihar of St. Louis, a non-profit organization, since its inception in 1992 has been serving the Metro St. Louis Indian community. The primary focus of this organization is to provide Indian cultural education to students age 5-18, its application and integration with the global multicultural and multifaceted society. They are also taught discipline, tolerance and devotion in their daily routine. The ultimate goal is "to throw the light of cultural knowledge on every child, to make every child an outstanding citizen and to spread the song of peace and harmony around the world."
Currently, the school meets every other Sunday from August through May at Ladue Middle School. Well designed, progressive curriculum focuses on aspects of religion, social, cultural, politics and community service. Complementing the curriculum, students also learn Yoga and Bhajans. Students, parents and extended families come together to celebrate Indian festivals like Diwali, Holi, Republic Day and many more.

Bal Vihar of St. Louis celebrated India's 63rd Republic Day
On Sunday, Jan. 29, the auditorium at Ladue Middle School was almost full with families from the Center of Indian Cultural Education, Bal Vihar, St. Louis and youth performers of Gitana Production’s tour of Living the Dream. The occasion was to celebrate Republic Day but one could not help feel the blessings of Mohandas Gandhi and Dr. Martin Luther King.
